4 Minute Blog:
Best questions to ask before choosing a career in Marketing

"Should I get into Marketing?"

Ask yourself the questions below if you are considering a Career change anytime in the future.

These Questions are designed for YOU to figure out "What" Marketing actually is in today's business environment, AND if Marketing would be a good, possible Career choice for YOU in the future, based on the new information you learn by asking these questions.

I did not include the answers, because I want people who are serious about their lives to do the proper research and figure out for themselves, if something is good or bad.

I wrote this complimentary blog.
I have done my part by providing a neat and consolidated list of questions for people who seek a career in Business and Marketing.

Do YOUR PART if you are the job seeker.

Research. Ask questions.

Do it happily.
The journey is the FUN part.
The questions below are a great start for you!

After you have taken the proper time to smartly answer the questions below, by typing it out, or writing your answers on paper (in your head does not count) You should create your own list of questions and ask the right people for the answers.

Your questions should be more in depth information about the Marketing field, or you can be inspired to start creating lists for different Career fields that you may wish to explore in the future.

Did you know that you can go on job interviews for your "Dream Job" while you are still employed, at your job that sucks?

It's true!

You should create an exit strategy, while you have the stability of a "job" until you find something else that makes you happy.

Me: You're willing to work hard, right?
You: Yes.

Me: Why not work hard, and be HAPPY?

You: Hmmm... Oh yeah George, You're right!

Did you know that

It is possible to find
work that you
will love to do?

It IS Possible!

Other people do it everyday.

You can create a plan of your goals, start  looking for a fun and challenging "side hustle" that makes you happy, then just do it.

Go for it.

Start doing that "thing" that

you said you wanted
 to "try" someday....

There is No "try" if

you are already "DOing"
your thing.

Choose your THING.

Do your THING.

Take a baby step to get started.

Just take a step.

Move forward toward

something that you know is yours.

You deserve the best.

You will create a way
to get what you want!

360 camera technology in Colorado

Saturday - 3/5/2016

360 camera technology is cool and we love it. Shall we move forward?

My good friend and U.S. Navy veteran, Jonathan Wilkinson is no stranger to cameras and technology. We met eachother in L.A., where we studied Filmmaking at The Los Angeles Film School and worked on various sets in Hollywood. So when Jonathan asked me to be the Producer of his most recent zombie script that he'd written, it was a 100% MUST that we shoot this project on a 360 camera. A camera is just a tool to serve your story, and this story requires this tool.

Photographer / Jonathan Wilkinson
Headshots Special:
http://www.denverheadshots.co/

The purchase was made, and bam! Colorado now has Hollywood trained, industry standard filmmakers with the latest 360 camera capabilities and technology available.

Currently we are spending countless hours perfecting our craft by shooting, editing, and reviewing footage with the 360 camera. This is a long process of figuring out how the camera reacts in different situations, such as: lighting, camera shake, transcoding in a specific codec, exporting for specific formats, color correction without losing quality, uploading, etc.

We want to show people that we are fully competent with the latest technology and we are looking for the right filmmakers to build our Colorado based team with.

Headshots Special:
http://www.denverheadshots.co/

As filmmakers we are TEST WHORES! Yes, I said it! We love to test everything! We shoot. Edit. Hate it. Then do it again until we get it right. True story.

We are learning to be the best 360 camera crew in Colorado by making as many mistakes as possible. The more we mess up now, the better our future clients can sleep at night knowing that their project is in safe hands. This is how all great things start. To walk one thousand miles, you must take the first step.

At this point we have produced 25 videos with the 360 camera format. Our next project will be the zombie short film that we will produce within the next few weeks. Who do you know that's produced more 360 camera projects than us? We want to meet them.

Anyone that is interested in hiring us for services or learning more about our techniques can send me an email anytime. I look forward to hearing from you.

Go home refugees! You suck! ....or stay?

Arab refugees should NOT be discouraged to start a new life in a new country.

My name is George Ohan and I was born in Aleppo, Syria. I am also a U.S. Army veteran; eight years active duty.

This message is for the Arabs and many other people around the world that are forced to become refugees in this time of turmoil and conflict. Do not be discouraged to live the life that you imagine for yourself. You CAN make your desired life your reality; just like I did.

In 1981 my family had to leave Syria and ended up in Los Angeles, CA. My parents didn’t speak any English, and Hollywood was much different than anything they had seen.

My suggestion to refugees is to avoid watching mainstream news outlets and avoid reading anything published  by mainstream news outlets. News in America and around the world is BIG business. The more drama and negativity that a story has, the more viewers a news company can possibly get to watch that story. Viewers = Money.  Right now “refugees and war” is their main business model. The news companies report the stories that they want to tell and sell. They scare the people in foreign countries to think that a “refugee” is a terrorist. What’s your story as a refugee? Have you seen that version on the news?

Do not be discouraged by tactics of hate. Do not react with hate and anger. Do not lose focus on the perfect life that you imagine for yourself. If you are reading this, then you still have a chance to become anything that you want to become in your life. You still have the chance to do the things that you have always wanted to do with your life. Plan it, and do it.

Honestly, I do not believe that people in America are afraid of terrorists moving into their neighborhoods. Maybe they are afraid to see hard working Arabs or “refugees” coming into their neighborhoods because refugees might start to be successful in the same places that the locals have been struggling?

 Take me for example:
  1. I had 3 jobs in high school (age 14 - 17)
  2. I joined the U.S. Army at 17 years old
  3. I was promoted to Sergeant by 20 years old
  4. I was promoted to Staff Sergeant by 23 years old
  5. I graduated with 2 U.S. college degrees
  6. I was voted as alumni President for Veterans of my college
  7. I was voted as the Student Veterans of America, chapter President
  8. I have started 5 businesses on my own, and 2 with partners
  9. I have helped Americans start over 100 businesses
  10. I was voted as Chapter Captain of Team Red, White & Blue

The list of success can go on, but I hope that you get my point…. I didn't take those positions from anyone. I EARNED everything by working harder than those people around me. Usually when people don't like me, it's because their laziness is exposed when they are compared to me. The work ethic of a motivated and hungry immigrant is hard to match by average locals in any country. It's called a sense of "urgency", but media will try to call it an "insurgency."

I’m happy that my parents did not take the advice of many Americans when they were told things like, “Go back to your country.”

When I was selected, voted, or promoted to positions of higher authority and responsibility nobody ever said, “Hey! That guy is a Syrian immigrant! Send him back to his country!” People were happy that I was the right person for the job. I, George Ohan, a Syrian immigrant have been beating Americans in competition my whole life. I didn’t have any special advantage to be set up for success over any other people. The only thing that I had control over was my attitude and perspective about my situation. I keep my mind focused on my ultimate desires, and my chances of success seem to be increasing significantly.

Refugees will have to work much harder than anyone else to prove who you are, but that’s ok. Proving WHO you are (your character) only shows with time and consistency of your actions. Keep doing the right thing in your new community, do it for the right reasons, do it for a long time, and good results will come from it.

As a refugee, you will identify “friendly” people along your journey. Build on relationships with tolerant people and create lasting friendships with locals. Everybody does not hate refugees. From my experience, I have found that people are very similar around the world. They show love and respect, when love and respect are shown to them and their home.
(Mirza, Muslim and Bosnian Refugee living in USA)

Seek a mentor in your new community. Figure out how things are done in the new region that you live in, and add value to your new community. Home is where you make it. You have a huge opportunity to show the world about the love and caring that your culture offers.

May God be with you.

Very respectfully,

George Ohan

Fun path to success & happiness for all people

This is "Crossfit for the brain." - You must commit 30 minutes daily.

You want to be happy?
You want to be successful?
But, how? .....Read Below

There is a system for your mind to build what it takes to be successful.
Would you be willing to invest 30 minutes of your day to build a more happy you?

This did not come into being by accident or a fluke.
TrueFortune Cookies concept was conceived, created, designed and brought to life by a man who not only is a visionary but a rocket scientist, mechanical engineer, designer, psychologist, marriage and family therapist, hypnotherapist, counselor, marketing executive - and entrepreneur.

TrueFortune Cookies was only one of many creations and inventions (holder of 10 patents) that its creator is responsible for, some of these accomplishments include:

Lunar Excursion Module - Supervised the mechanical design for the rocket engine for this space vehicle which landed the first astronauts on the moon.  This engine had a 10/1 variable thrust and is the only engine ever produced in the U.S. with a variable thrust.

Satellites - Designed a hermetically-sealed explosive release mechanism for satellites.

London’s Millennium Bridge - Designed the hermetically-sealed damper with infinite life that was later used to control pedestrian-induced vibrations on the bridge.  Previous to the installation of the dampers the bridge swayed so much that it couldn’t be used.

Ships - Invented a system for supporting the inertial systems of ships to protect them from depth charge-induced shock, yet allow them to retain very precise alignment.

Chatty Cathy Doll - Designed the talking mechanism for this doll which was the very first talking mechanism ever for dolls that could utter multiple sentences.

MEET DAVID LEE
The Early Years
Lee was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  He migrated to California to attend California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) in Pasadena where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  During that time, he was married and subsequently had three children.  Years later, he would continue his education at the University of Southern California (USC) from which he obtained a Ph.D in mechanical engineering, and much later a Masters degree in Counselor Education.  While at USC, he was a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship Society.

Work HistoryDuring the course of his professional career, which has spanned six decades, Lee amassed a diversified background of work experience, ranging from research and science to manufacturing and psychological counseling to self-help education and marketing.  It has been a career distinguished not only by its diversity but by a record of innovation and creative achievements.

A brief review of his work experience:
· Garrett AiResearch (Designer) - His first work position, Lee designed the test equipment that ensured that motors, turbines and other
   engine parts worked properly.
· Firestone Tire and Rubber (Designer) - Working in its Guided Missile Division, Lee designed rocket engines, valves and other parts for the Corporal II missile, the nation’s first ballistic missile.
· Weber Aircraft (Designer) - Lee designed ejection seats for the B52 airplane.
· Mattel (Designer) - Lee designed the talking mechanism for the Chatty Cathy doll.

Ramo Woolridge (Section Head) - Working in its Space Technology Laboratories Division, Lee was in charge of all design for the mechanical portions of the LEM engine which was the one that landed astronauts on the moon.  He was also responsible for the design of valves, release mechanisms, unique vacuum chambers that simulate space as well as rocket engines.  For one project, he flew for three weeks in the Zero Gravity aircraft at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (see photos).

Mechanics Research, Inc. (Vice President R&D/Marketing) - Lee joined the company as its seventh employee and eventually become a part owner.

Taylor Devices (West Coast Technical Director) - During his employment with this company, which manufacturers dampers and shock absorbers, Lee invented and patented several products.  He also functioned in marketing and sales and was   awarded salesman of the year for the United States.

Marriage and Family Therapist/Private Practice - After receiving his degree from USC, Lee opened a practice in Beverly Hills and counseled individuals and couples.

Hypnotherapist/Private Practice - Lee obtained a licensed from the state of California and began using hypnotherapy in his practice.  This led to him creating and producing a series of “Guided Relaxation” audio tapes which he marketed on subjects such as losing weight, relieving stress and stopping smoking, etc.

Government Consultant - Lee occasionally consulted for various government entities.  One such assignment resulted in the  Los Angeles City Council starting a seismic vulnerability evaluation program for all structures in the city.

The Present
TrueFortune Cookies is now Lee’s passion and focus.  Noting that his wife’s opinion on his new endeavor was something to the effect of why was he doing it and couldn’t he find something useful to do, he offered this assessment:
“As long as I can remember my entire adult life has been productive.  I have designed innumerable rather complicated machines and patented many of them.  I have been responsible and relatively inoffensive (with a few lapses).  The TrueFortune Cookie is my very first venture with no purpose, no redeeming value and no prospect of remuneration.  I’m old enough to have given up saving for my old age, old enough to have more sense but not old enough to stop caring - so let’s have some fun!
The Future
To be determined…but if Lee’s past history is any barometer, it won’t be dull and it will be meaningful!

How to create HD content for online branding & marketing

This BLOG helps you find a starting point for your online story.
(You found this blog; your customers will find your blog)

Do you need to create high definition content to tell your story online?

The following questions can help a business owner, entrepreneur, artist, musician, rock-band, filmmaker, people that provide services, and anyone that is starting to use the internet as a tool to find an audience.  You will need to stop, think, and take notes...
---------------
Are you an AUTHORITY in your field?  Why?  Who is?

What is your area of expertise? What do you do BEST?

What kind of content can you create to support your area of expertise?
Example:  VLOG, social media posts, podcasts, Blogs, online PR

Write a short bio about "YOURSELF" as if you are pitching "YOU" to someone.  How can the audience get to know you very quickly?  How are you unique?

What kind of social media posts make sense for you to post?  Who does a similar thing as you?  What is their online strategy?

What kind of content do you know how to create?

What useful advice about your industry, coupled with your opinions, can you offer to your audience?  If you had to write a blog right now about what you do, what would the title be?  (Thank you, that's your next blog)

What is your current ONLINE IDENTITY?
Google yourself.  What happens?  Do you like what you see?

Do you own your domain name?  www.YOURname.com - That is the ONLY online property that you have 100% control over what information gets published.  Any other social media site can change the rules at any time, and you are held hostage to their terms and conditions.

Basic online properties to start with:
Facebook LIKE page
Twitter
Pinterest
Google+
YouTube
Blogger
Instagram
SnapChat

Go through EVERY screen on the privacy settings and check or un-check the items that you agree with.  Ensure consistency in the messaging on all of your online platforms.

Who are your community supporters?  Does anyone love what you do?

Do you have the right STYLE for the internet?

How do your favorite websites look? Think about the entire DESIGN...

Do you LOOK professional?
1. Profile pics
2. Clothing
3. Content that you post
4. Social media properties
5. Professional messaging
6. Email address

Example:  Film producer should NOT look like a beach bum on daily posts.
(*This is OK for entrepreneurs!)  :-)

How do you MEASURE your efforts?

Who is clicking on the content that you post?

Are they buying?

What do they like more?

Do you have a capture page to gather emails?

Set up Google Analytics to track a lot of this information.
Set GOALS each week.

What do you want to accomplish?

INDEPENDENT (Indie) MODEL WANTS TO MAKE MONEY

…Like, I’m an Indie model and I want to get paid.  Now what?

INDEPENDENT MODEL WANTS TO MAKE MONEY – MUST READ*

1.  Do you have a modeling teacher, coach, or mentor?   This is not about being a pretty face and taking pictures.  This is a professional career and craft that might take over 10 years to develop.

                a.  Take the critiques of people that know what they're talking about very seriously and make the adjustments that they suggest.  Who cares how you FEEL, just do it.  You might actually learn a lot about yourself and your technique.

2.  Do people in your local area BUY your photos or merchandise?  Do they hire you for gigs, promos, or photography sessions?  Are you selling any content? Are people requesting your merchandise?  What have they asked for?  Where can you get items produced?  What is the cost?  Will you be shipping?

3.  What is your Brand?  What IS a Brand?  When your NAME comes up, what idea should pop into a person’s mind?  WHO are you? (Time for research) You must DEVELOP, PROMOTE, and MARKET yourself.  This means a LOT more than Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.  What are the best sites for working models?

4.  Do you know what the below terms actually mean when it comes to the MODELING industry: Marketing, eCommerce, Promotions, Digital Distribution, Publishing, Licensing, Intellectual Property and Copyright Protection?
(Do some research on successful indie models that you follow.  How do they do it?)
                 a.  Do you READ BOOKS that can educate you on your industry?  Do you read about those subjects daily?  Are you obsessed with learning about the MODELING BUSINESS?  You NEED to be.  *Brains & Beauty = Higher chance of SUCCESS

5.  Have you ever talked to an entertainment law attorney?  Look for one and email them.  Do you know if you “own” the photos that other photographers have taken of you?  Do you know any Modeling managers that are currently working in the industry?  If so, what degree of success have they achieved?- Meet the RIGHT people.

6.  Do you have phenomenal talent? …..Your talent has to be better than: MEH, better than GOOD, and better than GREAT too!!  Are your fans left in awe every time you post a blog or photograph?  If the CEO of ELLE magazine or MAXIM Magazine saw you right now, would that person be impressed by your full package? (Social Media, Body, Face, Community involvement, work history, future plans, etc..?)  Are you ready?
Is your work remarkable?  REMARK-ABLE.  Do you offer anything different than other models?

7.  Does your social media look like some of your favorite model’s sites?  Are your social media sites updated regularly, and with the correct information?  Is the content interesting and professional?  Do you have an online audience that engages with your posts?  Have they ever bought anything from you?
                 a.  Run your social media like a business runs their social sites.  You are here to make money; are your posts generating income?  If not; why not?  Do you have a marketing and branding campaign that you stick with?

8.  Are you highly motivated, dedicated, and willing to work harder than the next model?  How?  Do you have a plan?  What is your daily plan?  What do you consider “working” when you’re trying to build your company?
a.  Are you using your time effectively?  Ask yourself at the end of each day, "If I was the CEO of my modeling company, based on my performance today, would I hire myself again tomorrow?"

9.  Do you follow-up after meeting new people?  Have you emailed EVERY person that has given you a business card with a proposal to create content for them?  Are you networking with the proper people?  Are you networking correctly?  How are you offering to help them?  What are you asking for?

The above steps are over 10 years of experience in social media and working with indie models.  Shortcuts do not exist; you must do the work to achieve success.  This blog should serve as a guide to help a new model get on track with creating income for themselves.  FOLLOW the steps for a good start.

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or to set up a consultation.  Thank you for taking a quick read.

Very Respectfully,
