Excuses are irrelevant

It is now 12:38am.  I have been up since 5am, but who cares?  I just edited and posted to You Tube a 4:00 minute video for Hip Hop artist Poca.  After that I started editing a new 1:00 minute promotional video for the Rock Star Djs out of Las Vegas, NV.  Tomorrow morning class is at 8:00am, but who cares?  I still need to get my taxes in order, do my laundry, read 3 scripts, and thats just tonight..........but, who cares?  My friend Erin Soto just started up TheDailyActor.com and I wish her great success with that project.  My very good friend Xavier Ybarra has been doing a lot of interesting things with photoshop for emmy award winner Craig Huxley.  We also just released a new music video called "La Pastilla" for Spanish Rock Band "Vida Tinta."  So far the response has been very positive.  ALL of this going on and more.  The point I'm trying to make is this..... There are a lot of people doing a lot of things.  Are you doing enough to get to where you want to go?  Do you actually believe you can reach your goals?  I hope so.  Look in the mirror and ask yourself.

Very Respectfully,

Personally I'm diggin' this piece of work by HALO - new hip hop mixtape

Currently I've been listening to a new mixtape that I downloaded by HALO.  He's very talented and his music has great potential.  If there are any music video directors and producers out there I'd suggest trying to contact this artist before you can't afford to hire him.  He has a nice solid team with Fashawn, Omar Aura, Bravo, and T.A. the Handful.

Strive for greatness!  If not, then politely move aside for faster moving traffic.

Please don't mistake my kindness for weakness

I have many more years of experience as a business man than I do as a filmmaker.  I suppose that's the main reason why I'm so surprised when some slick talking Hollywood type acts as if they're doing me a favor when I'm helping them with a free project.  I know the name of the game, "free gig, free gig, free gig, PAID GIG."  Maybe some other filmmakers in Los Angeles have the luxury of not working that way, but at this point I do not.  When I do a free gig I try to make sure its for someone that can use the help.  More times than not I will help a person with headshots or video work if I appreciate their hustle.  The problem with "free" work is that every once in a while you come across a person that doesn't appreciate it or tries to take advantage of my offer.   When this is the case I allow for that particular person to dig themselves in as deep of a hole as they wish.  I am an independent film producer with financial responsibilities just like the next man.  I cannot afford to lose money to help you, I hope that you can understand my position.  I pay my bills by being a top Hollywood headshot photographer and film producer.  It is NEVER personal for me; we can drink a glass of cognac later, but for now,"Pay me... Please." :-)
