Family Friendly Freedom Fest 2017 - Clovis, Ca

That's RIGHT!

We will be celebrating all the things right about America!! Bring your family out to Freedom Fest and enjoy a safe environment to celebrate Independence Day. The city of Clovis, Ca can brag about having one of California's best Firework shows every year, and this year will be no exception, as over 30 organizations get together to coordinate this massive community event.

Mr. Lorenzo Rios, CEO of Clovis Veterans Memorial District and Retired U.S. Army Officer is the right person to orchestrate this type of gathering. Since I have worked with Mr. Rios, he always has the community and safety at the top of his priority list.

Rios said, "Create a plan for Communication, Rest, Meals, and Safety for your entire team." That's the kind of Leadership that we are privileged to have here in Central California.  As a former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant it's easy to see the value when our military Veterans take on Leadership roles in our local communities.

How can a newbie start a career in Hollywood

GI Film Festival - May 24 - 28, 2017

LIKE on Facebook:

I’m an independent film producer who helps people understand entertainment business as a sustainable career. Most “indie creative” people do not have a solid plan or strategy for success when they start their journey. Entertainment business knowledge is necessary for everyone who wishes to work with other professionals in the industry. Some of the things that you can learn in a quick conversation with people who have experience might never be taught in a classroom. Are you asking the right questions, to the right people?

Many new filmmakers and indie creative people get frustrated in the beginning of their careers because they simply do not follow the rules. Yes, there are rules to everything, and once you know the rules, then you can break the rules. Are you properly building relationships with people who matter? Do you “follow-up” with people who give you their contact information in a timely manner and with interesting information? How can you offer value to someone before asking them for something? How do you build trust, credibility, and rapport with a new potential client? Think strategically.

You don’t need 1 million followers to be successful. You need to find 1,000 TRUE fans and that is enough to launch your career. Can you get 1,000 people to give you $40 each, for a service that you provide? If so, you’ve independently earned a $40,000 per year income in entertainment business. Who are these 1,000 people? How can you turn a Facebook friend into a customer? An independent actor, model, or filmmaker must learn how to charge people for money.

Schedule & Passes:

A great start for “Entertainment Business Networking” a.k.a. “Making New Friends” is the GI Film Festival. You need connections, you need many of them, you need these connections, FAST! From May 24 – May 28, 2017 your life WILL change, if done right. Reach out to ALL of the people who have projects in our festival on social media or via email before arriving in Washington, D.C. this year. Attend the GI Film Festival with a plan, prepare questions for the Q&A after the screenings, exchange information at the mixers, and follow up with your newly gained contacts and friends.

Have you shared our “Trailer Wars” sponsored by Military Times? What’s that?!? OMG. Please visit http://www.militarytimes.com/gifilms

Contact the staff at GI Film Festival with any questions about making your #GIFF2017 experience as amazing as possible. US Army veteran writes about GI Film Festival

May 24 - May 28, 2017

#GIFF2017

My name is Casey Stafford, I am a US Army Veteran, artist, and aspiring actor.

CJ Stafford, Writer of this Blog

The GI Film festival is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 by Brandon Millett and Major Laura Law-Millet, it's mission is to provide a platform for the military community so that their stories of courage will be heard, seen, and felt through film and television.

GIFF 2017 is an incredibly vital tool in connecting our veterans and civilians. I can tell you first hand that one of the most difficult things a veteran can do is relate to someone who has not experienced war.

The GI Film Festival is an opportunity for filmmakers of any level to use their creative abilities and talents to offer some insight on the realities of the military and combat.

I know many veterans and active service members who have seen the arts as the antithesis of what the military and battle stands for, but through destruction comes creation and the GIFF is the perfect example of that.

The benefits of the GI Film Festival are endless. There are aspiring actors waiting to be discovered, amazing creative geniuses who can tell a story and put you right into the action while doing it, and plenty of film industry professionals who are in support of veteran organizations looking to make a project a production in thanks of our heroes.

The biggest benefit to remember is that the men and women of our military receive recognition for their deeds through a mainstream event and are able to bridge the gap between military and civilian life.

JUST finished this piece up. Mr. Sinise is a beacon of hope for veterans like myself and I hope to one day meet the man.

International actor seeks to work with filmmakers worldwide

As an international actor I believe that one of the many truly important and necessary avenues for disseminating all manner of artistic works is a film festival. There are numerous festivals around the world, some more well-known than others, but all are equally important to local communities, artists in all fields, as well as societies and peoples worldwide.

Film festivals like the G.I. Film Festival (https://gifilmfestival.com/) and the Asian World Film Festival ( http://www.asianworldfilmfest.org/ ) are just two of the myriad of arenas that showcase the work of every speciality field in the industry - from filmmakers, actors, and stunt people to special effects, voiceover, foley artists and so many others.

Art truly does imitate life and the artistic works that film festivals showcase can become not only individual expressions but also powerful tools in bringing people together and focusing on the essential concerns that we all share rather than dividing us.

I want nothing more as an actor than to be a collaborative part of real, thought-provoking film and television works as well as intelligent and conscientious photographic works. Film festivals and their inherent production afford an actor such as myself
the chance to fulfill those dreams by allowing me to network with people in several areas of the industry. Whether I am in a particular film or part of a specific photographic campaign promoting said film festival, I am very happy to be a part of something that can potentially make the world a better place in the long run.

http://www.asianworldfilmfest.org/

There is no better time than today to become involved in something so worthwhile and necessary!! Whether simply a local production or one with a long standing reputation and a wider scope, getting and being involved in festivals like the G.I. Film Festival and the Asian World Film festival is a wonderful way to contribute to positivity and positive change on a large, even international, scale.

I have worked both in the u.S. and here in Brazil and I hope to continue to do so while growing, reaching new heights and conquering different and/or more difficult challenges that allow me to become the best version of myself along the way!!

If there are any filmmakers reading this who believe I might be of use to them and their project, I would love to hear from them!!

Sincerely and respectfully,
